To further enhance outstanding young talents’ understanding of the country’s development strategies, sci-tech policies, and cultural landscape while advancing the implementation of national goals under the 14th Five-Year Plan to support Hong Kong in building an international innovation and technology hub, the Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation and the Beijing-Hong Kong Academic Exchange Centre jointly organized a study exchange program to Beijing. The delegation comprised recipients of the National Natural Science Foundation of China’s Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Hong Kong and Macau) and Distinguished Young Scholars (Hong Kong and Macau), researchers from national key laboratories, talents from InnoHK research clusters, and representatives from innovation and technology enterprises in Hong Kong. The initiative received strong support from relevant Chinese government departments.

The itinerary included specialized training courses, visits to the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT)Museum & Cultural Heritage Center, tours of the Huairou Science City, and inspections of innovation enterprise platforms. Integrating theoretical learning with on-site visits, the program significantly deepened participants’ comprehensive understanding of China’s historical culture, technological capabilities, sci-tech innovation ecosystem, talent cultivation framework, global dynamics, and policy orientations. This profoundly strengthened their sense of national identity, cultural pride, and confidence. Participants unanimously expressed their commitment to applying insights gained in Beijing to their scientific research and innovation practices upon returning to Hong Kong, thereby better serving both Hong Kong society and national development strategies.
During specialized training sessions, scholars began with studies on the cultural essence of the Chinese nation before progressing to systematic modules covering national economic development, educational innovation, and national defense advancement. They also gained structured insights into China’s scientific talent cultivation framework.
At the "People's Military Industry Exhibition" in the BIT Museum, participants immersed themselves in the heritage and evolution of China’s defense industry, thoughtfully engaging with the stories behind each exhibit.
At Huairou Science City, the delegation visited the New Quality Productive Forces Creation Center, the Multi-Modal and Cross-Scale Biomedical Imaging Facility, and Duochang Cryogenic Technology Co., Ltd., among other facilities.

Over the five-day program, participants transformed from strangers to close companions through rapid ice-breaking activities and deepening friendships. They spontaneously organized diverse cultural and sports events, enriching the exchange experience.
During the concluding session, multiple delegates enthusiastically shared reflections, highlighting the program’s visionary purpose and profound significance. They described the experience as a "renewed spiritual consolidation" and "horizon-broadening journey," emphasizing its practical guidance for their daily research and innovation endeavors.
