數碼港陳思源、議員邱達根出席「Web3 學者高峰會 2024」並致辭

2024 香港Web3 嘉年華中,在由DRK Lab 主辦「Web3 學者高峰會2024」上,香港數碼港管理有限公司首席公眾使命官、香港科技創新聯盟理事陳思源和香港特別行政區立法會議員(科技創新界)、香港 科技創新聯盟顧問邱達根發表開幕致詞。

陳思源其表示,數碼港一年多來致力於促進Web3 社區的發展以及培育優秀的Web3 企業家,採取了一些措施,包括與多個大學合作,推行“香港大學夥伴計劃”,每年選擇20 多支 學生隊伍參加海外訓練營。 此外,作為香港 Web3 計畫的孵化器,數位港入駐的 Web3 計畫在 1 年增加了 130 多家,從去年的 80 多家成長到 230 家,其生態系統中包括 20 多個基礎設施。 此外採取的措施還包括人才培育工作、實習生計畫等,數碼港定期舉辦社區活動,每個月末為 Web3 計畫免費舉辦展示日。

 

 

「第二屆大灣區國際科創峰會」成功舉辦

粵港澳大灣區院士聯盟(院士聯盟)主辦的「第二屆大灣區國際科創峰會」(峰會)4月3日在香港科學園舉行,匯聚了區內及海外逾200位知名院校代表、政府官員以及業界專家,共同探討科技創新與國際教育合作的未來前景,為打造香港乃至粵港澳大灣區成為國際教育中心貢獻力量。香港科技創新聯盟為本次論壇的支持機構。

粵港澳大灣區院士聯盟理事會主席、香港科技大學(科大)校長葉玉如教授在峰會上代表主辦方致歡迎辭。她表示很高興藉此次峰會邀得政府官員及各界學者集聚一堂進行深入交流,強調在新時代的機遇和挑戰面前,國際合作和交流對於高等教育的發展至關重要,期望各方能共同努力,攜手邁向卓越,為社會進步作出更大貢獻。

峰會期間,葉玉如教授以「高等教育賦能未來」為題發表主題演講。她指出,當前世界面臨氣候變遷、公共衞生危機、資源緊缺等重大挑戰,科技正以前所未有的速度發展,從根本上重塑大家的生活、工作和學習方式,高等教育機構應在引領社會適應新時代變化中扮演關鍵角色。葉教授在演講中介紹了科大在教育、科研以及知識轉移三大領域的創新舉措,旨在培養具有創新精神和國際視野的人才,同時通過突破性的科研成果,為國家和區域重大需求、全球重大挑戰提供解決方案,服務社會。科大已培養出超過1,700多家公司,包括9家獨角獸以及11家上市公司,合共為社會創造了逾4,000億港元的經濟效益。

此次峰會設有兩個校長論壇。其中,葉玉如教授主持了以「高等教育機構國際合作」為主題的校長論壇,邀請多所内地及海外知名大學校長分享其國際合作策略和經驗,共同展望未來教育的發展,包括藤田醫科大學、阿卜杜拉國王科技大學、新加坡國立大學以及北京大學等。

此外,葉玉如教授還參加了以「建設粵港澳大灣區成為國際教育中心」為主題的校長論壇。在論壇上,葉教授介紹香港科技大學(廣州)成立於2022年,是粵港澳大灣區發展規劃綱要出台後首家獲批成立的內地和香港合作大學,是建設高水平示範性合作大學的創新實踐。她表示:「科大與科大(廣州)在『港科大一體,雙校互補』的框架下協同發展,可充分發揮大灣區不同城市之間的互補優勢,爲科大師生開闢更廣闊的發展空間。」她指出,科大香港和内地校園建立的高效溝通機制,對於保障兩校之間緊密合作、實現共贏至關重要,同時為推動大灣區高等教育融合發展作出有益探索,貢獻大灣區建設成爲國際教育中心。

出席峰會的主禮嘉賓包括中央人民政府駐香港特別行政區聯絡辦公室副主任盧新寧女士,中華人民共和國外交部駐香港特別行政區特派員公署副特派員方建明先生,以及香港特區政府創新科技及工業局局長孫東教授出席活動。哈薩克斯坦科學和高等教育部部長Sayasat NURBEK先生及香港特區政府署理教育局局長、教育局副局長施俊輝先生則作主題演講。

粵港澳大灣區院士聯盟於2021年4月1日成立,致力以國家級科學家的力量構建一個強大平台,藉着自身在科研領域及香港國際化的優勢,促進跨學科交流合作,同時推動科技教育和科學普及活動,支撐粵港澳創科協同發展,助力香港以至大灣區建設成爲國際科技創新中心,貢獻國家科技發展。葉玉如教授為發起人之一並擔任首屆理事會主席。

香港創科界學習貫徹 2024 年全國兩會精神座談會

4 月 11 日,香港科技創新聯盟、粵港澳大灣區院士聯盟、京港學術交流中心聯合舉辦「香港創科界學習貫徹 2024 年全國兩會精神座談會」。中央政府駐港聯絡辦主任鄭雁雄應邀出席並作交流分享。中央政府駐港聯絡辦副主任盧新寧、秘書長王松苗,香港創科界代表人士共 60 餘人參加。

鄭雁雄:科技工作者將有更寬廣的天地

鄭雁雄表示,在中央關心支持下,香港創科界踔厲奮發、積極有為,取得可喜成績,香港科研實力更加彰顯,融入國家創新體系的途徑更加暢通,對產業升級的支撐更加有力,國際化優勢更加鞏固,並吸引了大批來自世界各地的創科人才,充分展現了創新型國家建設中的香港力量、香港擔當、香港作為。

鄭雁雄表示,香港要貫徹好全國兩會精神,把握好新質生產力的發展,鞏固提升國際金融中心地位,統籌高質量發展和高水平安全的香港擔當,把握好香港由治及興的創科擔當。習近平總書記強調發展新質生產力,切中了香港的迫切需要。鄭雁雄充分肯定了香港創科界為國家發展和香港繁榮穩定作出的積極貢獻,並表示,科技工作者將有更寬廣的天地,更重要的使命,香港創科界應當更多作貢獻,鞏固基礎研究優勢,賦能產業創新,進一步融入國家發展大局,並且提升國際化水平,進一步匯聚全球優秀人才。

座談會上,鄭雁雄與創科界人士充分交談。港區全國人大代表和政協委員葉玉如、衛炳江、吳宏偉、黃錦輝介紹了參會感受和學習體會,表示將積極宣傳貫徹好全國兩會精神,抓住國家發展新機遇,發展香港的新質生產力,以香港所長貢獻中國式現代化。

高教界、創科界人大、政協代表發言

全國人大代表、科大校長、粵港澳大灣區院士聯盟主席葉玉如教授表示:結合兩會精神對推動新質生產力作了一些思考,首先,基礎研究是一切科技創新的源頭,對提高國家的核心競爭力有重要意義,也可以從根本上保障國家安全;產業也要有創新,一方面傳統產業鏈要升級,一方面要積極佈局和培育新興和未來產業,如生物醫藥、低空經濟、量子技術等;還要培育創新人才,人才是打破技術壁壘的關鍵,香港應把握高等教育的優勢,進一步優化人才培養體制,培養和引進具有全球視野的創新人才。香港因資源有限,要加以聚焦,例如在生命健康領域;另一方面要融入國家發展大局,推動發展深港河套區,發揮兩地科研協同優勢,建立起一個國家級科研平台。

全國政協委員、浸大校長衞炳江教授表示:新質生產力無須消耗大量資源及能源,卻能為國家經濟帶來龐大收益。浸大正利用大數據分析與人工智能,支援創意媒體創作、藥物研發、人文及文化範疇的研究,獲得了嶄新的研究成果,例如獲香港政府資助的藝術科技項目「未來影院系統:下一代藝術科技」展示了創意與最新科技的結合,開創了影視、戲劇、舞蹈、音樂與體育表演製作新面貌,將有助提升國家文化軟實力,擴大中華文化影響力;在醫藥方面,浸大不遺餘力推動中醫藥科技化、標準化、全球化,其中藥創新研發中心成功研發首個以中草藥為基礎、獲得 U.S. FDA 批准在美國展開第一期臨床研究的新藥,浸大研究團隊研發的另外兩款藥物也獲得 U.S. FDA 的「孤兒藥」資格認定。

全國政協委員、科大(廣州)副校長、香港創新科技聯盟副主席吳宏偉表示:新質生産力的發展需要高素質的科技人才、先進的技術賦能、前瞻的産業佈局。建設香港國際創新科技中心,必須要「軟硬兼施」,軟是指高質人才的培養,硬是指創新先進設備。長遠來看,培養人才方為上策,特別是有中國心的科技人才。香港的大學一直是亞洲乃至世界的佼佼者,是可以善用的優勢,透過繼續提升高等教育的品質,深化與內地高校的合作,可加快與內地形成合力培養科技人才,包括中西部地區的人才。香港建設國際教育樞紐,一方面可以吸引國際優質生源,培育具有中國心和全球競爭力的國際化人才,另一方面可解決目前香港由於適齡學童人數下跌面臨的「縮班殺校」問題,冗餘的校舍可改建為學生宿舍,不會影響到香港現行的房屋政策。另外,更可將國際化教育市場擴大到中、小學生,打造小學、中學、大學全過程國際化培養體系。最後,科技人才培養要從小開始激發科學興趣、薰陶科學精神,應充分利用學校以外的社會場所;建議在香港建設一所綜合性、國家級、乃至世界級的科技館。

全國政協委員、立法會議員、香港科技創新聯盟副主席黃錦輝教授表示:在輸入人才方面特區政府已設有多項計劃,在中端人才的培訓方面則仍有很大的擴展空間。建議職業培訓機構參考本地大學在內地開設分校的模式,在大灣區城市開設分校,為灣區培育更多優秀職業專才,建立更強大的職業人才庫,幫助推動香港以至國家的經濟發展。職訓局於 2023 年成立的職專教育服務(深圳)有限公司可以是一個起步點。此外,香港和內地之間的學歷互認機制,可擴大到高級文憑等職業教育資歷。同時,可借鑑 2015 年開始設立的吸引「二代港人」回流計劃,制訂措施以吸引「雙非」港人回流香港。

與會者的會後感言

數碼港行政總裁、香港科技創新聯盟副主席鄭松岩博士:聽了鄭雁雄主任的講話,深感這次兩會重實務、貼地氣。數碼港正在進行人工智能生態的建設,也將貫徹這一精神,力求讓人工智能助力科研發展,賦能產業轉型,同時益及民生,讓民眾有感,企業有感,為民造福。

嶺大校長秦泗釗教授:新質生產力主要是創新生產力,創新靠人才、尤其是創新型人才的培養。嶺南大學旨在發展爲數字化研究型博雅大學,近期在全球人才招聘上取得一定成績。在人才培養方面,期望香港政府支持嶺南大學擴大研究型研究生培養,好爲香港、大灣區和內地的新質生産力發展作出貢獻。

理大副校長(教學)、香港科技創新聯盟副理事黃國賢教授:我深感兩會精神對創新的重視、發展高質生產力的決心、及對香港作為國際金融中心、國際創新中心、創科人才培養中心的期望和支持。香港創科界要好好把握國家發展機遇,爲國家作出貢獻。

港大協理副校長尹曉波教授:鄭主任對生産力三要素的闡述,使我對香港科教體系如何實踐新的高質量生産力有了一定的理解。具體到香港的教科體系,我們更應關注生産力的核心要素,即人的要素,提高科教人才的素養和培養質量。港大作爲全球領先的大學之一,要培養和引進更多具有國際視野的全球頂尖人才,實現從零到一的突破,從而帶動其他生産力要素的質的飛躍。同時,量變也會帶來質變,這一點在人才的聚集方面尤爲明顯。最近的例證是,科睿唯安提到香港大學成功吸納國際頂尖科學家,是香港成爲全球十大科創地區的源動力之一。

生産力局首席創新總監張梓昌博士:全國兩會爲香港的未來發展作出重要規劃,對推動香港高質量發展具有指導性意義。生産力局責無旁貸,未來將繼續全力配合特區政府,在大灣區和內地其他地區加强創新合作,加快形成新質生産力。結合香港的實際情况,工作將主要包括創新、高質量、綠色及人才等四個關鍵要素。我局將支持傳統産業升級轉型,讓新質生産力引領香港工業發展,並將於今年揭幕新質生產力展館,作為香港與海內外交流合作的平台。

科大先進顯示與光電子技術國家重點實驗室夥伴實驗室范智勇教授:我在此次座談會收穫非常大,爲國家在過去一年各方面的發展成就感到非常鼓舞,也體會到中央對香港以創新科技驅動新質生産力有很高的期待。作爲港科大先進顯示與光電子技術國家重點實驗室的代表,我覺得本港同仁們應該認真思考如何好好利用我們的學識和工作平臺,發揮在基礎科學研究、國際視野方面的研優勢,加强源頭創新,爲香港的再工業化和國家的經濟發展做出貢獻。

港大生物醫藥技術國家重點實驗室徐愛民教授:鄭雁雄主任的分享,讓我對兩會精神有了更爲深刻的認知和體會,特別是發展新質生產力和統籌高質量發展的方面。兩會精神強調創新、改革、發展。作爲大灣區唯一一家從事生物醫學研究的國家重點實驗室,我們將大力落實兩會精神,加强基礎研究,努力開發針對代謝性慢病的更爲高效、精準的藥物、治療策略和診斷技術,打好關鍵核心技術攻堅戰。此外,我們還會努力爲國家培養和引進高端人才,務求將生物醫學領域打造成實現新質生産力的重要陣地。圍繞兩會精神,我們將繼續充分發揮紐帶作用,加强與內地及香港政府、海內外高校、科研機構的合作,實現健康中國,爲國家的高品質發展貢獻更多的力量。

京港學術交流中心總裁徐海山先生:要高效發展香港新質生產力,就必須要破解內地與港澳地區因法律制度、行政管理、教育體制、智慧財產權制度、交易規則等存在差異,而在一定程度上造成人才、資金、技術和資訊等要素的流動受阻。希望建立更緊密的大學聯盟與研究合作網絡,促進資源共享,硬件上可以包括以大學為主導、提供多個公共研發平台的大型創科實驗室,讓大學、企業、研究機構、政府部門共同參與;亦可為北部都會區創科研究設立專項基金,發揮磁場效應並促進學術界和產業界合作,有針對性地培養稀缺人才。

「京港科創企業沙龍」順利舉行

4月13日上午,「京港科創企業沙龍」於香港北京社團總會會所順利舉行。此次活動由香港北京社團總會、香港科技創新聯盟聯合主辦,並得到北京市委統戰部的指導。香港科技創新聯盟主席盧煜明教授,副主席黃錦輝教授,理事岑浩璋教授、都永海先生、葛儀文先生、徐海山先生出席本次活動。北京海外聯誼會副秘書長張法、北京市工商業聯合會聯絡處副處長張平萍、北京市西城區商會副會長謝靜、北京市海澱區商會副會長曹燕、中關村通州園黨工委副書記朱蕾,北京市委人才工作領導小組駐港澳人才聯絡處執行主任王選華等嘉賓出席,由總會常務副會長兼秘書長李中主持。

香港科創聯盟主席盧煜明教授在致辭中表示,香港科創聯盟一向在推動京港兩地交流合作,尤其是科創發展方面不遺餘力。香港和北京都被賦予「國際創科中心」的角色;香港的優勢是基礎科研和連接海外,內地則在成果轉化、生產鏈和市場上更具優勢,兩者強強聯手則可實現互利的雙贏局面。未來期待兩地可以整合創科資源、發展戰略性新興產業和未來產業、加快形成新質生產力,為京港創科發展,提供更有利的環境、開拓更廣闊的空間。

香港科技創新聯盟副主席兼秘書長、全國政協委員、香港立法會議員黃錦輝教授,在創科領域中,香港本身具有卓越科研水準。若科研成果成功轉化並在當地生產,香港可以包攬上、中、下游的經濟產出,從而實現“一條龍”的全面經濟效益。另外,“十四五”規劃支持香港建設八大中心,當中除了國際創科中心之外,還有區域知識產權貿易中心。香港一向為亞洲的重要知識產權交易中心,香港法制健全、能與國際接軌,在知識產權保護及相關專業服務上有很大的優勢。在創科產業鏈中,香港如能進一步推動知識產權貿易,將能帶來極大的經濟效益。

香港北京社團總會常務副會長兼秘書長李中表示,感謝大家的積極參與,希望兩地企業家通過總會此次沙龍取得合作成果,京港兩地一直合作緊密,今後總會也將在北京、香港兩地舉辦更多沙龍活動,團結凝聚更多的科創人才,創造更多的合作機會,助力京港科技交流交往,服務京港協同發展,為國家高質量發展做出貢獻。

科創聯盟歡迎完成《基本法》第23條立法聲明

       本聯盟非常樂見及支持香港特別行政區完成《基本法》第23條立法。香港作為國家不可分割的一部分,有責任和義務築牢維護國家安全的防線,維護國家主權、安全、發展利益。本聯盟相信,《基本法》第23條將與《香港國安法》,共同為香港築起維護國家安全的堅實防線,確保「一國兩制」行穩致遠。

       早前特區政府曾於2002至2003年期間推動《基本法》第23條立法,卻因故未能完成立法。距今廿年,特區政府今日終可履行「憲制責任」,完成立法的任務,實是可喜。安全是發展的前提,在香港「由亂到治走」向「由治及興」的新階段,有了第23條摒除國家安全領域的風險,為香港經濟民生發展提供良好環境,香港方能集中精力去拼經濟、謀發展,更好發揮獨特地位和優势,創造更美好明天。

       《基本法》第23條規定,特區應自行立法禁止任何叛國、分裂國家、煽動叛亂、顛覆中央人民政府及竊取國家機密的行為,禁止外國的政治組織或團體在香港特區進行政治活動,禁止香港特區的政治性組織或團體與外國的政治組織或團體建立聯繫。當前國際鬥爭日益激烈,國際形勢動盪不安,敵對勢力對我國全方位遏制打壓,香港必須在維護國家安全上堵塞漏洞、補上短板,築牢維護國家安全的屏障,外部敵對勢力危害國家安全的陰謀才不會得逞。

       本聯盟相信,第23條不減院校及學者的學術自由,亦不會成為香港吸納海外人才的障礙。本聯盟仝人歡迎香港特別行政區完成《基本法》第23條立法,呼籲全體會員及全港各界人士,守護「一國兩制」,共同維護國家安全,長遠為香港的穩定繁榮貢獻力量。

香港《基本法》第23條規定:「香港特別行政區應自行立法禁止任何叛國、分裂國家、煽動叛亂、顛覆中央人民政府及竊取國家機密的行為,禁止外國的政治性組織或團體在香港特別行政區進行政治活動,禁止香港特別行政區的政治性組織或團體與外國的政治性組織或團體建立聯繫。」

香港科技創新聯盟歡迎第六屆香港特區政府啟動就《基本法》第23條本地立法工作,履行特區回歸26年以來未盡的憲制責任,通過立法完善國家安全法制建設,可以保障國家安全和維持香港繁榮穩定,科學家及科研人員能夠在一個安全,穩定的環境下,自由從事研究,發揮所長,創造有利民生、經濟發展及科研創新的社會環境,提高香港的創新能力和國際競爭力,助力香港建設國際創科中心。我們歡迎政府進行公眾諮詢,並盡快完成立法工作。

BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize 2023 Award Ceremony Successfully Held

It was pomp and circumstance today (Dec 15th 2023) at the Award Ceremony of the BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize 2023 (BOC STIP), organised by the Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation and sponsored by the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited.

The Prize focuses on five fields: Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Life and Health, New Materials and New Energy, Advanced Manufacturing, and FinTech. Each year, experts from Hong Kong and overseas are invited to select outstanding scientific researchers/ teams in the above field for their impressive achievements in scientific research as well as the application and commercialization thereof. The prize aims at encouraging science and technology entrepreneurs to explore and persevere in the pursuit of innovation, working together to build on Hong Kong's strengths, serve the country and contribute to the world.

Since its inception in 2022, the BOC STIP has received wide support from academies, scientific researchers as well as science and technology companies. This year, six laureates are selected, namely Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Professor Jia Jiaya, the Chinese University of Hong Kong; Life and Health, Dr. Wong Siu-lun Alan, The University of Hong Kong; New Materials and New Energy, Dr.Tang Jinyao, the University of Hong Kong; Advanced Manufacturing, Professor Cheung Chi Fai Benny, the Hongkong Polytechnic University; last but not least, FinTech, Professor Au Man Ho Allen and Professor Luo Xiapu Daniel, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize 2023 Laureates Announced

(1st November 2023, Hong Kong) The BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize (STIP) announces the Laureates of 2023 today. “STIP in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics” is awarded to Prof. JIA Jiaya from the The Chinese University of Hong Kong. “STIP in Life and Health” is awarded to Dr. WONG Siu Lun Alan from The University of Hong Kong. “STIP in New Materials and New Energy” is awarded to Dr. TANG Jinyao from The University of Hong Kong. “STIP in Advanced Manufacturing” is awarded to Prof. CHEUNG Chi Fai Benny from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. “STIP in FinTech” is awarded to the team of Prof. AU Man Ho Allen and Prof. LUO Xiapu Daniel from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The Laureates (individual/group) of each category will be awarded HK$ 2 million sponsored by the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited in recognition of their contributions in scientific research and influence on transformation of R&D outcomes in Hong Kong.

Laureate of STIP in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics

Prof. JIA Jiaya has spearheaded a research team in the development of a new generation of intelligent manufacturing platforms and highly automated manufacturing research and development systems, which drives the exploration of intelligent upgrading and digital transformation in the industrial manufacturing sector. As an expert in the fields of computer vision, artificial intelligence and computational imaging, Prof. JIA is a tenured Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the founder of Smartmore Corporation.

Laureate of STIP in Life and Health

Dr. WONG Siu Lun Alan’s groundbreaking gene editing tool screening platform has overcome the current limitations of one-by-one testing, enabling rapid identification of the most suitable and effective gene therapy tools and accelerating development of next-generation precision genome editors. Other screening platforms that he developed facilitates the interpretation of biological system complexity, leading to efficient screening of combination therapies for clinical applications. Dr. WONG is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong.

Laureate of STIP in New Materials and New Energy

Dr. TANG Jinyao has developed a novel type of light-responsive active colloidal material that achieves controllable photoinduced “phase separation”, leading to significant breakthroughs with potential applications in display technology and optical stealth materials. This advancement also contributes to the development of the fundamental theory behind light-controlled active materials and chemically driven micro/nano motors. In 2022, he developed a cluster system of nanorobots. Dr. TANG is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science at the University of Hong Kong.

Laureate of STIP in Advanced Manufacturing

Prof. CHEUNG Chi Fai Benny’s pioneering ultra-precision nano multi-ring machining technology has successfully been applied in the development of a novel and high-efficacy nano multi-ring defocus incorporated spectacle lens for myopia control, benefiting millions of myopic schoolchildren. Prof. CHEUNG serves as the Chair Professor of Ultra-precision Machining and Metrology in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and the Director of the State Key Laboratory of Ultra-Precision Machining Technology at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Laureates of STIP in FinTech

Prof. AU Man Ho Allen and Prof. LUO Xiapu have jointly developed new algorithms to protect the assets, system, and network security of the blockchain ecosystem, providing cryptographic foundations for blockchain technology. Their work has had a significant impact on the development of financial technology applications built on blockchain platforms. They are from the Department of Computing at the PolyU. Prof. AU's research focuses on information security and privacy protection, applied cryptography, blockchain technology, and its applications. Prof. LUO's research focuses on blockchain and smart contract security, software and system security, IoT and network security.

The BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize, established in 2022 by the Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation and title sponsored by the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited, has received widespread support and enthusiastic nominations from universities, researchers, and innovative enterprises. 【中銀科創獎】機器人開刀「動腦」 一次刀口搞掂

香港科技創新聯盟於去年首辦「中銀香港科技創新獎」,向人工智能及機器人、生命健康、新材料新能源、先進製造、金融科技等領域的傑出科研人員頒發共1,000萬港元獎金,以肯定他們在港進行科技創新轉化的傑出成就,為全港最大型聚焦科技成果轉化的獎項。多位得獎者近日接受香港文匯報專訪介紹研發項目的心得,首集是人工智能及機器人領域獲獎者之一、香港中文大學醫學院外科學系名譽臨床副教授陳達明,他與拍檔聯合研發出可應用於微創腦手術的柔性內鏡機器人(MicroNeuro)系統,讓以往必須開兩次刀口的腦手術,變成一次刀口,團隊目標於3年內製作出儀器原型,盡快投入臨床應用,幫助減輕患者痛苦。◆香港文匯報記者 姬文風

「香港有一類腫瘤是全世界發病類最高的,叫顱內松果體胚胎瘤,它主要影響3歲到20歲的年輕人,發病會導致腦積水。」陳達明表示,外科醫生面對此症主要做兩件事,一是打通腦積水,二是抽取活組織作病理化驗,「不過通腦積水是向前的,取組織則是向後的,而傳統的腦室內視鏡只有『直鏡』,於是一直以來做這兩件事,就要開兩次傷口。」

研轉彎鏡 開一傷口處理兩任務

他解釋指,每次開刀口都有機會帶來風險,「簡單說,每篤一支針入腦,一次就有0.5%風險出血,兩次就風險倍增,而腦出血是可大可小的,可能中風、癱瘓甚至致死。」為此,陳達明坦言早於十年前已經想到,能否造出一支懂得轉彎的鏡,使其只開一個傷口,就能處理兩項任務。

問題在於這個構思於工程角度而言十分艱難,「現今其實有一款類似的(產品),但設計上未合乎要求,主要是轉彎轉得唔夠靚。我們要求在最尾的10mm才轉彎,轉最少60度,這在工程上是相當困難的。」陳達明坦言,過去不少資深醫生、工程師都認為這是「不可能任務」,直至2019年他認識了中科院香港創新研究院人工智能與機器人創新中心執行副主任劉宏斌,雙方一拍即合,於是開展了柔性內鏡機器人系統MicroNeuro的項目研究。

系統添觸感 避免劇烈碰撞

「我們臨床團隊有這個想法,會提出不同的實務要求,劉教授團隊就負責從技術上、工程上考慮相關可行性,再運用尖端科技去解決。」陳達明舉例指,要在軟鏡上設多個鏡頭,方便視像偵察,在只有4mm的鏡頭做到高清質素,採用的物料能否在最後的10mm裏面,轉到60度至75度的彎,且要引入機械化控制。

他特別提到,醫療儀器尤重安全,「因此要加入VR,實時做到支軟鏡的走向,不只是一點或直線,而是整條線路我都要知道,才可說服醫生病人,這是安全的,不會撞到個腦而不知道。」系統還將加入觸感,「反饋到觸碰力度,一旦撞得犀利,除了觸感回饋,VR圖像都要發出警示,這些都有助解決安全問題。」

港處有利位置 易促成跨界合作

目前MicroNeuro已完成首例屍體實驗,標誌着該機器人的主要功能研發成功。陳達明分享跟拍檔劉宏斌已有共識,「我們想3年完成prototype(原型),做好剛才提到的那些要求,當然我們還要繼續做好多次屍體實驗,之後再申請人體實驗。」

被問到當初為何致力「跨界」開展醫療儀器開發,陳達明認為目前的醫療仍有不少限制,「以往可能只有好高級、好偉大的醫生,才有廠商願意為他開發儀器,但現在有了3D打印之後,工程不再遙遠。」尤其近年國家及特區政府均大力推動創科,「現在香港處於非常有利的位置,深圳是我們的工廠,什麼都能生產,加上近年不論資助、平台都很多,更容易促成跨界合作。」

陳達明認為,參與醫療儀器開發本身就有很大的吸引力,「可以度身訂做自己想要的儀器、機器人,進而令手術、醫療改善,滿足感會更大」,而這也是他選擇於教學醫院工作的一大原因,希望透過研究,造福更多病人。

回中學母校談科普 勉從小育團隊精神

「中銀香港科技創新獎」各得獎者須參與學術交流、學術論壇,推動科普活動。訪問當日,陳達明回到中學母校參與科普主題演講,寄語學生應從小培養團隊精神,不論是醫務工作或是科研工作,均需要與不同人才攜手合作,通力完成任務。他在分享與工程拍檔合作心得時,特別強調有效溝通是箇中關鍵,因此鼓勵學生們多與他人聊天,既是培養溝通技巧,也是加深彼此認識,合作時自然事半功倍。

「好多人覺得醫生自己叻就夠,但其實我們都是一隊人去做手術,好少『單刀赴會』的。」陳達明在母校荃灣聖芳濟中學分享時,形容手術團隊跟他當日參加的中學籃球隊一樣,各成員須彼此通力合作,「當中有醫生、護士、麻醉醫生……有高級些,負責領導計劃的、有前線的、有初級的、實習的、有不同職能的人去完成一個任務,中間最需要溝通合作。」

他特別提到,自己的腦外科團隊對「TEAM」一字有以下演繹,「together each achieve more」,「自己可能做不到太多,但一齊做就可以做到更多,讓每個人都能超越自己。」事實上,他與劉宏斌的合作,正是印證了以上說法。

「臨床團隊與工程團隊之間,最困難的地方在於溝通,我如何將每一步要求告訴對方,而他又將這個要求,化為工程任務去處理,裏面花好多時間。」因此,陳達明分享自合作開展以來,兩個團隊都會定期開會,「好多跨科目問題都需要溝通,否則只懂自己在行的,兩隊人就算再犀利,問題只會一直都在。」

盧煜明教授與Prenetics斥2億美元成立Insighta 瞄準多種癌症早期篩查檢測 料2030年的年使用量達3000萬

基因及診斷檢測公司Prenetics(美:PRE)與香港科技創新聯盟主席、香港中文大學李嘉誠醫學講座教授及創新診斷科技中心科研總監主任盧煜明宣布,將斥資2億美元(約15.6億港元)成立合資企業Insighta,Insighta技術來源於創新診斷科技中心。該中心得到香港政府創新科技署InnoHK Initiative的支持;Prenetics的董事會已一致通過這次交易。

盧教授及其團隊將獲得其餘50%股權,而Prenetics亦獲得合資企業50%股權,合資企業的董事會將由雙方各自推薦3名董事,組成6人的董事會管理Insighta,其中盧煜明為主席,Prenetics行政總裁楊聖武為行政總裁。

交易對價包括2,000萬美元Prenetics股份

Prenetics將出資1億美元的交易對價,其中包括8,000萬美元的現金以及2,000萬美元的Prenetics股份,資金將直接用於加快推進癌症早期篩查技術的臨床測試,推動該突破性技術的商業化,預計可供Insighta營運使用3-5年,目前正招聘15-20個研發人員。

Insighta的首個檢測Presight聚焦肝癌和肺癌,將於2024年初招募5000人在多國進行臨床測試,並計劃於2025年在內地和香港首發上市。Presight每個檢測不超過200美元(即約1568港元),首階段與本地診所合作。市民可到診所進行抽血測試,樣本隨後會送往化驗中心,3日後出結果。 

料於2030年的年使用檢測量達3000萬

盧煜明指出,Insighta推出突破性技術「FRAGMA」,認爲背後的科學多癌種早期檢測方面擁有潛力,相較傳統的癌症檢測方法,他指Presight背後的血漿DNA的碎片模式準確性較高,且流程簡易。楊聖武預計,Presight於2030年的年使用檢測量達3000萬。

Insighta又計劃在2027年推出Presight One,針對多種癌症的早期檢測,能夠檢測超過10種以上的不同癌種。
